Man arraigned in court for stabbing POLICE OFFICER in Ogun

                                                                       

A 20-year-old man, Sadiq Majekodunmi, was yesterday arraigned by the police before an Ota Magistrates’ Court  for allegedly stabbing one Omoniyi Olakunle, a police officer attached to a police station at Ojodu Abiodun.
The prosecutor, O. Ajayi, told the court that Mr. Majekodunmi who resides at No. 18, Alaba Taiwo Street, Ota, Ogun, allegedly committed the offence on September 7, about 11.00 am at Kara Ojodu Abiodun in Ota.
Mr Ajayi said a fight ensued after the police officer, Cpl. Olakunle had caught the accused defecating in an inappropriate place.
Leadership newspapers reports:
Majekodunmi was arraigned on a one-count charge of assault.
“The accused stabbed Olakunle with a broken bottle on his neck and caused him bodily harm in the course of discharging his lawful duty,” he said.
Ajayi said the offence was punishable under Sections 356 (2) of the Criminal code Vol.  II Revised Law of Ogun, 2006.
